About Us
Welcome to Coastal Oak Property Management, where rental property grows into something lasting.
Coastal Oak Property Management manages rental property the way it should be managed: with operational discipline and the strategic perspective that comes from a background in both real estate and wealth management.
We manage single-family and small multifamily rentals across Orange County for owners who think of their real estate as part of a larger financial picture, bringing the day-to-day discipline of an experienced manager and the long view of someone trained to think about wealth over time.
Work With UsOur Mission
Coastal Oak Property Management combines operational discipline with strategic perspective to help Southern California rental owners build lasting portfolios.
Our Vision
To create a new standard of property management, where rental properties are managed not as isolated assets, but as key components of the broader financial picture that supports the life an owner is building.
Our Core Values
Compliance
Property management in California is a business of risk. We treat compliance as the foundation everything else is built on, not a box to check. If a decision can't be made within the bounds of the law and our fiduciary duties, it isn't a decision we make
Discipline
Durable results come from systems, structure, and the consistent application of repeatable processes. We document how we do the work, follow the process when it's tedious, and refine it when it's flawed. Discipline is what turns good intentions into outcomes you can count on.
Context
No decision about a property exists in isolation. Every choice fits into the larger picture of the owner's goals and the long-term trajectory of the portfolio. We zoom out before we act, because that perspective is what separates property management from property administration.
Stewardship
Owners trust us with assets that often represent decades of work. We honor that trust by acting in their best interest at every turn, even when it costs us, and by managing each property as if its long-term performance were our own.
Ownership
When something goes well, we share the credit. When something goes wrong, we own it. We take responsibility for outcomes, communicate clearly when they fall short, and fix what's ours to fix. Owners shouldn't have to wonder whether someone is accountable. Someone always is.
Why Coastal Oak Property Management Exists
Most real estate professionals don't treat rental properties like investments. Most wealth managers won't touch real estate at all. Owners are left to bridge that gap on their own.
Coastal Oak Property Management was built to close it. Rental property, managed well, is one of the most reliable ways to build lasting financial freedom, but only when it's managed with both halves of the equation in view: the operational discipline that keeps a property running, and the strategic perspective that positions it well over time. Most owners get one or the other. Few get both.
That's the gap this firm was built to fill. We bring the day-to-day discipline of an experienced property manager together with the strategic lens of someone trained in wealth management, because lasting results require both. Our name reflects what we believe good management produces over time: something rooted, durable, and worth passing on.
Property management, done right, is in service of something bigger than the property itself. It's in service of the financial foundation that makes a certain life possible. That conviction is the reason Coastal Oak Property Management exists, and it shapes every property we manage.
"If that's the kind of partner you've been looking for, let's talk."
Meet The Team
Matthew Martin
Founder & Owner | DRE #01944489
Matthew founded Coastal Oak Property Management to bring something most rental owners never get from the people managing their properties: the discipline of professional management paired with genuine strategic perspective. His background spans both sides of that equation. He's spent his career in real estate, in sales and property management, and in wealth management as a CFP® professional advising clients on financial planning, and he's been a real estate investor himself for more than a decade.
Born in Long Beach and raised in Orange County, Matthew lives in Los Alamitos with his wife and three kids. He coaches his kids' sports and stays involved in the community he serves. He's watched real estate build lasting wealth for families across Southern California for as long as he's been paying attention, and that's the work he set out to do for owners through Coastal Oak Property Management: manage their property as the investment it is, with the bigger picture always in view.
